I think ceilings are the most neglected space in our homes," says interior designer Eloise Kubli, owner of Collective Construction & Design in Plantation. "They're often forgotten, even though they have the same square footage as floors."
Ceiling detail can be done in a variety of ways. "The first consideration is often budget," Kubli says. "One of the least expensive ways to create interest on a ceiling is with paint."
Try painting a high ceiling a darker tone within the same color palette as the walls. "It will make architectural details stand out," Kubli says. "You might want to paint a lower ceiling the same color as the walls."
A medallion can be a simple way to add visual interest to a ceiling. "They're available in many styles," Kubli says. "A medallion gives a personal stamp to your decor, and you can get them at Home Depot or through a designer." continued…
