Today, tiles are made from an assortment of materials that offer wide versatility and visual variety. Homeowners can choose from ceramic, porcelain, terra cotta, honed or polished stones, glass and metals. "There are a vast array of stock shapes and sizes available," Kubli says. "Or you can special order custom tiles."
