Stairways, both inside and out, can be good places to use tile. "You can do just the risers, or the tops of the steps, too," Kubli says.

Tile floors can be a canvas for creativity. "A medallion in the foyer can be very dramatic," Kubli says. "I also like to use different tiles to define spaces like a dining or sitting area. And instead of a fabric rug, I may create a ‘rug' out of tile. It can be a beautiful look." continued…
